An ever evolving tool for community building, both real and imagined.

Worldbuilding is a process and technique of constructing a fictional world or environment. However, we can apply those techniques to our surroundings and communities to help envision and realize a more compassionate future.

Jugaad =

A creative approach to problem solving making use of limited resources.

Necessity is the mother of invention. A colloquial Indian (Hindi, Bengali, Marathi, Punjabi, Sindhi, and Urdu) noun used to describe the process of creative problem solving in the face limited resources. In the spirit of the concept, Future Rehabilitation encourages thinking critically about and engaging with existing resources to find creative solutions to rehabilitation and community obstacles. A theory about the relationship between ecological and social issues, developed by social theorist Murray Bookchin.

The act of being denied treatment by an HMO because they don’t think you’ll recover.

A term born out of frustration from a person undergoing rehabilitation.

An approach to design and problem solving that place people and accessibility at its core.

Visible and Invisible Disabilities =

How we treat and design for disability changes depending on whether or not it's visible to the naked eye.

Strength Perspective =

A Social Work concept that looks into client’s strengths, abilities, and potential rather than problems, deficits and pathologies.

Process of Empowerment =

A process of motivating people to speak up and take action for themselves.
